Senior investment officer at Washington D.C.-based Pan African Capital Group (PACG), Stephen Murray elaborates on the firm’s work in investment planning and advisement. Catering to banks and businesses — including SMEs — in West Africa, PACG aids in widening investment and capital growth opportunities. In part two of the interview, Murray delves deeper into the process of making an investment and portfolio management in Africa.

“Generally speaking, things take a little longer, they’re more expensive. Problems arise in emerging markets that you maybe take advantage of in developed markets,” Murray said in the video. “So, for us, what we always try and do is make sure we have a reserve amount of capital.

“It’s certainly always taken a little bit longer to exit than perhaps we would have liked. So we want to make sure we have adequate capital buffers,” he added.
