Nour Drissi, 26, is the founder of the online car rental platform Loue1Voiture.com, a website that is available on mobile phones that is (translation: Rent Car 1) the first company that allows customers to compare car rental prices and reserve a car in Morocco. Drissi recently won a $5,000 grant from the She Leads Africa entrepreneur showcase in Lagos, Nigeria, to boost her business. Here are 12 things you didn’t know about Nour Drissi.

She won more than just a check

Drissi’s business impressed Chinese telecom Huawei so much that the company awarded Drissi an all-expenses paid trip to China. Huawei partnered with the She Leads Africa showcase.

She had an international education

Drissi attended the University of University of São Paulo, a public university in Brazil. Before that she attended the French business school Euromed Management, School of Management and Business. She attended a private high school in Paris.

 

 

Previous work

Before starting Loue1voiture.com, Drissi founded Book1car.com, an international car hire broker. That gave her the idea to begin “a more independent car-hire comparison website with a more profitable business model to Moroccan car rental companies,” she said in an interview with Mitefarab.org.

Other competitions

Drissi competed in the MIT Enterprise Forum Arab Startup Competition. Her company was the 43rd to qualify for the semifinals. She also competed in the CEED-IBM Challenge — a monthly event that allows African entrepreneurs to pitch to Moroccan investors.

Why she got started

Drissi said in an interview with Mitefarab.org that she got the idea for her company after the number of car rental companies in Morocco climbed above 4,500. Drissi said that rental companies lacked transparency and it was difficult for customers to accurately compare prices. Enter Loue1Voiture.

Her plans for the company

Drissi plans to expand Loue1Voiture to the Maghreb — the majority of Northwest Africa bordering the Mediterranean Sea — and other Arab countries.
