Whether they taught us family values on old TV series or awed us with their amazing voices, these child stars didn’t just become more talented as they grew up. They got hot! Here are 10 African-American child stars who became total heartthrobs.
Bryton Eric McClure
Best known for his role as Richie in “Family Matters,” McClure had a brief career as a singer before continuing his acting career on the epic American soap opera, “The Young and the Restless.” And you know they only cast actors who fog up the screen on that soap opera.
If Urkel drooled over Kelli Williams as a teen in “Family Matters,” he would go crazy for her today! Even after having a child she is in incredible shape and has a very elegant look.
Jaleel White
Jaleel White played Steve Urkel in “Family Matters” and we think Williams’ character would give him a chance today! He has style, a chiseled jawline and some pretty great moves on “Dancing with the Stars.”
The adorable twins who used to wear floppy hats and denim vests have come a long way! Tia Mowry sizzles as the star of BET’s “The Game” and Tamera Mowry is looking incredible after having a baby.
Kel Mitchell
Remember the quirky duo from “Kenan and Kel”? Kel Mitchell isn’t looking so goofy anymore. He’s appeared in several TV shows including “Nite Tales: The Series” and “Married, For Real?!”
Monica Brown couldn’t have known how much the title of her ’90s hit, “Miss Thang” would suit her today! And we’re sure whichever boy she is talking about in her song “The Boy is Mine” would not mind being claimed by her.
Lil’ Romeo
The child rapper isn’t so “lil’” anymore but he’s still Romeo! Romeo Miller branched out into acting, playing the love interest in the movie “Jumping the Broom” opposite Tasha Smith.
Another musical child prodigy, Lil’ Bow Wow became famous with his song “Beware of Dog” and we’re thinking he meant, “Beware of how hot I’m going to get when I grow up!” Shad Moss a.k.a Bow Wow played in Tyler Perry’s “Madea’s Big Happy Family” and is still releasing albums.
The adorable little Rudy of “The Cosby Show” looks much different from her pigtail days! She starred in Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne” and continues to act.
Speaking of Rudy, here is her friend Kenny, otherwise known as Bud from “The Cosby Show.” Rudy entertained a little crush on Bud throughout the show, probably because she predicted he would be a hunky and successful actor in movies such as “Van Wilder” and “Not Another Teen Movie.”
