Glazed Donut Bistro (Los Angeles, Calif.)

Fluffy, warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven doughnuts look like little edible angels when you’re hung over. And then, there’s ham — full of salt — that beloved ingredient when you’re hung over. Top that off with creamy, oozing gruyere cheese and you get one of the best Monte Cristo sandwiches in the nation. Glazed Donut Bistro makes theirs with their own sweet doughnut dough, and Black Forest ham.

Crown Candy Kitchen (St. Louis, Miss.)

Several studies have shown the scientific reasoning behind why a bacon sandwich can cure a hangover, and here is one of the best you can find. The bacon is exclusively Oscar Mayer, and it is kettle fried making it extra crispy. Each sandwich contains 14 pieces of bacon —yup, 14.

The Griddle Café (Los Angeles, Calif.)

The Griddle Café is famous for serving up pancakes and waffles larger than a pizza. You can’t go wrong with anything you order here, but we recommend The Golden Ticket —banana nut pancakes filled with caramel, walnuts and streusel topped with whipped cream, caramel and more streusel.

Pho Pasteur (Chinatown, N.Y.)

Pho will knock the hangover right out of you. It’s full of liquids (which you lost a lot of from peeing out your beer all night and generally dehydrating your body), tons of tasty salt, and spicy ingredients to help you sweat out some toxins. If you’re in Brooklyn, get yours at Pho Pasteur. For just around $6 you get a huge bowl of light broth, thin noodles, and heaping servings of bean sprouts, Thai basil, onions and scallions.

Yardbird (Miami, Fla.)

Carbs and cheese when hung over? Yes please! The Yardbird first gained popularity as a Southern-fried-chicken restaurant, but its mac ‘n cheese quickly created a buzz. Made with five cheeses (medium sharp cheddar, Swiss, Grayson, red Leicester and parmesan), the dish uses spiral-like pasta. Little pools of cheese build up inside each spiral. Finally, the dish is sprinkled with breadcrumbs and fresh herbs.

Smoke Restaurant (Dallas, Texas)

Of course sometimes you just need a good old-fashioned cheeseburger to attack the Jager bombs in your stomach. Since we already know the magical powers of bacon, we tracked down the best bacon burger in America and found this one: a hefty meat patty topped with a soft-cooked fried egg fritter, thick house-smoked bacon and sharp cheddar between a homemade honey roll.
