More details are coming out about the marriage of soon-to-be-divorced Silicon Valley power couple Melinda Gates and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, along with Bill’s apparently deep connection to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Bill, 65, sought marriage advice from Epstein, who reportedly committed suicide in 2019 while imprisoned for procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute. Gates was looking to end his “toxic” marriage to Melinda and Epstein advised him on how to do so during a series of meetings at the late money manager’s mansion, two people familiar with the situation told The Daily Beast.

Between 2001 and 2014, Bill and Epstein met often at Epstein’s $77 million New York townhouse — more than 11 times,  The Daily Beast reported.

Melinda reportedly objected to Bill and Epstein’s relationship. She was so outraged by the friendship that she started speaking to a divorce lawyer in 2019, The Daily Mail  reported.

Twitter exploded over the new revelations.

Jesus H. Christ @JConabicycle tweeted, “‘Toxic’Marriage–Objecting to your husband associating with a convicted sex offender … and who knows what else he did…! Don’t get mad, Melinda–get everything. You’d spend it better, I think.”

But Iyke @Biykend didn’t think the revelation of the Gates-Epstein meetings would affect Gates’ legacy. He tweeted, “We don’t care what nonesense gets leaked by anybody on Bill Gates now. He will remain revered, loved and respected in the world.”

“[It’s] not an overstatement,” one of the people who was at several of the meetings said. “Going to Jeffrey’s was a respite from his marriage. It was a way of getting away from Melinda.” Epstein and Gates “were very close,” the person added.

A representative for Bill Gates refuted this, telling The Daily Beast, “Your characterization of his meetings with Epstein and others about philanthropy is inaccurate, including who participated. Similarly, any claim that Gates spoke of his marriage or Melinda in a disparaging manner is false.”

It is also alleged by The Daily Beast that Gates suggested Epstein become involved with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to “rehabilitate his image.”

The friendship between the two men — which began in 2011, three years after Epstein had pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor –was much closer than Gates previously admitted, The Daily Beast report alleged.

Besides Bill’s curious ties to Epstein, the philanthropist was facing other troubles. When Gates resigned from Microsoft’s board in 2020, an internal investigation was already underway to look into an alleged sexual relationship with a company engineer, who came forward in late 2019.

The Gateses announced their divorce on May 3, ending their 27-year marriage in a statement that read, in part: “We no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives. We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this next life.”

One of the world’s richest couples, the Gates fortune is estimated at $130 billion, The Daily Mail reported.
