Note: This article has been changed to reflect that Ice Cube’s interview, which he said was canceled by CNN, was rebooked and took place on Friday with Chris Cuomo.

Hip-hop mogul Ice Cube has received backlash after helping the Trump campaign develop its Platinum Plan, an economic plan for Black America. Cube’s getting canceled left and right — even, for a minute, CNN.

He was scheduled to appear on “Cuomo PrimeTime” with Chris Cuomo but said he got unceremoniously booted. Ice Cube claimed on social media that his appearance was canceled because Cuomo and CNN “can’t handle the truth.”

However, the CNN interview got rebooked, and Ice Cube set the record straight on Friday in an interview with Cuomo.

He addressed his connection to the Trump campaign as well as his own reparations plan, Contract With Black America.

Cube had tweeted earlier, “So the POWERS that be cancelled my interview on @CuomoPrimeTime tonight. I’ve actually been ban from @CNN for a few months so I was surprised they even asked. But it seems like they can’t handle the truth.”

This cancellation came a day after Cube’s tweet about endorsing President Donald Trump resurfaced on Twitter, Newsweek reported. He responded by quoting the tweet, dated August 2016, simply saying: “I haven’t endorsed anybody.”

“I will never endorse a m********a like Donald Trump,” Cube tweeted more than four years ago. “EVER!!!”

In a video he has since posted, Cube said, “Everybody’s been mad at me, cause I haven’t been on the f**king-y’know-the gravy train of these candidates, especially Joe Biden and Harris. I don’t trust none of them. No president has done right by us. So I don’t trust none of them.”

It’s not the first time CNN has shied away from controversy. In 2018, the network fired contributor Marc Lamont Hill after he encouraged countries to boycott Israel and “free Palestine from the river to the sea” — a phrase which is used by Hamas and other anti-Israel groups.

Listen to GHOGH with Jamarlin Martin | Episode 73: Jamarlin Martin Jamarlin makes the case for why this is a multi-factor rebellion vs. just protests about George Floyd. He discusses the Democratic Party’s sneaky relationship with the police in cities and states under Dem control, and why Joe Biden is a cop and the Steve Jobs of mass incarceration.

Some feel the DNC had a hand in not only the firing of Hill, but in canceling the Cube segment on CNN.

Moguldom Nation founder Jamarlin Martin tweeted, “When Lamont Hill deviated from the DNC cult on Israel, he was canceled from CNN. They only like Kamala & Bakari’s who show up and go hard at the AIPAC conferences. The corporate confederacy is like a sports team, they RECRUIT the best team for THEM to WIN, politically.”

Martin added, “The DNC is real top-heavy, they are on DIRECT DIAL to CNN & MSNBC. The Biden campaign probably called CNN’s Jeff Zucker on Ice Cube and that was it. Canceled. It probably took just 1 phone call to CNN on Lamont Hill when he ‘got out of line.'”

In his CNN interview Friday, Ice Cube told Cuomo, “I didn’t run to go work with any campaign. Both campaigns contacted me. Both campaigns wanted to talk to me about the Contract with Black America. One campaign said, ‘We love what you have, but let’s really dig into after the election.’ And one campaign said ‘We love what you have, do you mind talking to us about it?’ And that’s what I did, so I didn’t run to nobody.”
