Payscale’s data is based on self-reported salary information from more than 126,000 South Africans with up to 10 years of working experience.

According to the data, South Africans’ average salary increases to 208,000 rand ($12,391 US) for one-to-four years of experience. With five-to-nine years of experience, South Africans can expect to earn 358,000 rand ($21,354 US).
