Sawari Ventures, sponsored by Egypt’s richest man Naguib Sawaris, is based out of Egypt but it invests in companies around North Africa and the Middle East. According to the website Sawariventures.com, the company aims to, “Translate local visionaries into global hits.” Sawari’s portfolio includes Financial Services Company, which provides “retail-based field services to retailers and financial services” and Weather HD, an interactive maps and weather application.

Zimbabwe-based firm MATHs focuses almost exclusively on technology.
