She started out on YouTube

Anne Kansiime started her career by posting some of sketch comedy skirts on You Tube. Her screen breakthrough came when Citizen TV from neighboring Kenya offered her a slot to produce a weekly comedy show.

246,000 subscribers, 20 million plus views on YouTube

Her YouTube channel  has got more than 246,000 subscribers from across Africa and receives more than 20 million views each time she uploads a video. Kansiime is diligent in creativity and has a new clip on her YouTube channel every week. This has led her to appear on BBC Focus Africa as one of the most popular African comedians on YouTube.

Better than Basket Mouth and Klint Da Drunk

In August, Kansiime bet two of Nigeria’s finest comedians Basket Mouth and Klint Da Drunk to clinch the Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards  category of Favorite Comedian. She also  won the best comedian at the Black Entertainment Film fashion TV and Arts in UK earlier in the year. Her other accolades include Best Actress at The Lagos International Film  festival Awards 2013 and African’s Social Awards Malaysia (ASAM)-2013.

Biggest Comedian out of Uganda

Uganda’s funny girl, Ann Kansiime has topped the list of the best actress in East Africa. Given the size of her fans spread across Africa and beyond, she is the biggest comedian out of the Land-locked country and the region. Took six years to build her comedy empire

In 2007, Kansiime was a second year Social Science student at Makerere University where she spent most of her time performing arts to students. She made her first deal with Rock-point 256, Ugandan Radio Show targeting the youth in 2008.

She’s part Uganda’s Fun Factory comedy group

Kansiime is a member of Uganda’s top comedy group, Fun Factory and does her comedy skits in Swahili and English. The group is made up of 14 young and brilliant professional men and women. The company blends most of the hottest and funniest comedy skits that capture the current trends in the Ugandan society and they have done so for the past 6 years. They also have a weekly TV show on NTV called U-turn.

She loves children

Though she still doesn’t have any children of her own from her 2014 marriage to fellow actor Ojok Gerald, Kansiime loves kids. She is currently compiling an album of children’s songs. She is currently shooting the videos.
