Lorient Want $13 Million For Jordan Ayew

Ligue 1 club Lorient would be willing to part with Ghanaian starlet Jordan Ayew, if the right amount was to be offered for his services.

Ayew’s contract with the French club runs until June 2018, having joined the side from Olympique Marseille at the beginning of the last season.

Recent reports in Afrique Foot suggest that the 23-year-old would be allowed to leave the club for an offer of around $13.2 million.

Les Merlus benefited from the player’s 12 goals and seven assists during the recent French campaign, allowing the team to avoid relegation.

Interest for Ayew has emerged from a number of clubs, including Everton, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace in England, Borussia Dortmund in Germany and Lille in France.

Lille coach Herve Renard is an admirer of Ayew, and would be pleased to have the talented player in his side, but Lorient is not keen to sell him to a rival side in the same league, which gives clubs in the English Premier League and the German Bundesliga an advantage with regards to his potential capture.

Jordan Ayew’s brother Andre recently left French club Marseille to join Swansea City in the Premier League. The son of Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele refused to sign an extension to his contract with the Ligue 1 club, and he joined Swansea on a free transfer, signing a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old was in demand once it was made known that he would be leaving France, with clubs in England, Italy and Germany displaying their interest in the talented winger. It seems that his younger brother may be following his example soon.
