Al Jazira Poised To Attract Gervinho From Roma

According to credible reports, Ivorian star player Gervinho is a major target for Arabian Gulf League team Al Jazira, who are poised to attract the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner from Italian side Roma.

The Serie A club would need to receive an impressive offer to even consider letting go of the skilful 28-year-old, who is still tied to the club for three more years on his current contract, but according to France Football the gulf side is more than ready to fulfil any demands from the Italian capital.

The Ivorian has been an important player for the Romans since joining from Arsenal in 2013, with current coach Rudi Garcia adding to his comfort at the club. Scoring goals and contributing assists in attack have endeared Gervinho to the fans in Rome, while his excellent footballing attributes are the reason that the Gulf League club continue to show strong interest in his signature.

Roma ended the 2014-15 season in second place after an impressive season, meaning that they have guaranteed UEFA Champions League football for the next campaign. This may influence the player’s decision on whether to look at the proposed offer, as at 28 he would be considered in the prime of his career.

Burkina Faso winger Jonathan Pitroipa currently plays at Al Jazira, and if Gervinho were to agree to the move, he would give the side yet another skilfil option on the wing or in attack.
