Didier Drogba Interested In The MLS

Ivorian striker Didier Drogba is considering his future following his revelation concerning the fact that Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Sunderland was his last game for English Premier League champions Chelsea.

Drogba ends his second stint at Chelsea with total figures of 164 goals in 381 appearances.

The former Cote D’Ivoire captain has dismissed the possibility of playing for another English side, due to his love for the Blues of London, but admitted to having received a few offers after announcing his departure from Chelsea.

“There are some really fantastic teams in the Premier League but my love for this club, I can’t share it with another English team,” he said to the Daily Telegraph.

“Since I put the news I am leaving Chelsea on social media, I was in the dressing-room and I was receiving some calls from teams which is really unusual,” he revealed.

He went on to say that a move to a a Major League Soccer (MLS) club in the US is a possibility that he will certainly be keen to consider.

“It showed that maybe I can still bring something to a team. Of course I’m interested in the USA,” said Drogba.

“Now I’m going to have a few days and weeks to think about what is good for me next but all I want is to play,” he added.

Drogba ended his final encounter with the Blues following an injury, but in the ultimate tribute and show of respect for the former Cote D’Ivoire skipper, a selection of his team-mates picked him up and carried him off the field, as he exited the EPL pitch for the very last time.
