Augsburg defender Baba Rahman has attracted serious interest from English Premier League champions Chelsea, who are looking at the possibility of a transfer market move for the Ghana international at the end of the season.
The in-demand youngster is at the centre of a potential transfer from his Bundesliga club to the Blues of London, according to reports from L’Equipe.
The 20-year-old has been one of the top performers at his German club, and it seems an inevitable end to his time at the Fuggerstadter’s is around the corner, as a number of teams around Europe have been monitoring his progress and keeping in contact with the players agent and his club.
The likes of Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus have displayed an interest in the Ghanaian, but Chelsea seem to be hot on the heels of Rahman, with coach Jose Mourinho looking to strengthen the squad following their EPL title triumph.
According to the report, the club from Stamford Bridge are willing to make an offer of around $17million to secure the services of the Black Stars defender.
Rahman suffered a toe injury at the end of March, but has recovered well to continue his fine form at Augsburg, where he has contributed four assists in attack and defensive solidity for his team.
The talented Black Stars defender was a pillar of strength at left back for Ghana during their campaign at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea last month, where the side ended as runners up to eventual winners Cote D’Ivoire.
