Samuel Eto’o Set To Launch Fashion Brand Internationally

Samuel Eto’o is set to add to his businesses outside of football with a fashion brand that will involve shirts, caps and sneakers in a premium line of clothing targeted at a global audience.

The brand is named ‘Samuel Eto’o 9’, and the main focus of the fashion line is menswear. The clothes are designed and manufactured in Turkey, and an initial shipment of was produced and released into the local market in February.

Cameroonian designer Gabriel Pascal Nyemeg Nlend is involved in the project, and is working closely with Eto’o to bring this fresh brand to market.

The designer explained what the brand is all about, and how fans can show their gratitude to the former Indomitable Lions captain by purchasing items from his new fashion line.

“This project is recognition of Samuel Eto’o’s achievements in African football. Buying this stuff is like saying ‘thank you’ to him for the joy, pride and honour he has given to us as Africans through football,” Nlend said, according to SuperSport.

“After the pitch and the stadium, we want Samuel Eto’o to accompany us to our homes, towns and villages by wearing his brand,” he added.

This is certainly not Eto’o’s first journey into the business side of things. He recently launched a mobile telephone company called as ‘Eto’o Telecom’, which runs in Cameroon.

The Cameroon legend is one of Africa’s best players of all time, representing clubs of the calibre of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Everton and Sampdoria, where he currently plays, during a decorated career.

African Player of the Year from 2003-2005, Eto’o retired from the national team in 2014, and has been focusing on club football ever since.
