Montella Wants Salah To Remain At Fiorentina

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has been full of praise for Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, adding that he wants the striker to remain at the Italian club next season.

Salah is currently on loan at the Viola from English Premier League club Chelsea, and since his arrival in January, he has been one of the stand-out performers for the side from Florence.

The 22-year-old found the back of the net once again this past weekend, scoring the second goal as Fiorentina defeated Sampdoria 2-0 in Serie A action.

The strike was his seventh in 12 games since joining the club at the start of the year, and with two assists to his name, it is a given that former striker Montella would appreciate Salah’s talents and wish for the Egyptian to remain at the Stadio Artemio Franchi going forward.

“Salah deserves credit, he is a quality player,” Montella said to Sky Italia. “I don’t know much details about his buy-out option, but I know that there is another year for his loan and then we will see what happens.”

“The club has to ultimately evaluate the financial issues, but the important thing is that he’s going to be here with us next year,” Montella revealed.

“Technically I knew he was good, I endorsed and pushed the club to get him. I didn’t expect him to adapt so quickly in Italy and Serie A. He scored important and decisive goals against big clubs,” he added.
