Eden Hazard Picks Drogba, Ba And Gervinho In Ultimate Team

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has picked his ultimate five-a-side team from a list of his favourite football professionals, and has included three African players amongst his squad.

Didier Drogba and Gervinho of Cote D’Ivoire, and Demba Ba of Senegal are his African selections. Spaniard Juan Mata and fellow Belgian Thibaut Courtois complete the side.

Explaining his selection of veteran Drogba, Hazard told ESPNFC, “I have a lot of respect for Didier. I saw a lot of his games before I came to Chelsea and he was one of the top players. It’s a pleasure to be his team-mate now.”

Another striker in his list was former team-mate at Chelsea, Senegalese front-man Ba. The Belgian described the Teranga Lions player as his best friend, saying, “And not because I played with him, because I didn’t really get the chance. He was on the bench a lot and then when he started to play I was injured.”

Ba currently plays at Besiktas, having left Chelsea for Turkey in search of solid playing time in 2014.

Hazard’s final African addition to the five-a-side team is another former colleague at Lille, Gervinho. Hazard fondly recalls his time at the French club playing with the Ivorian midfielder, who has since joined Arsenal before moving on to Roma in Serie A, where he has found his scoring boots and is doing very well for the Giallorossi.
