Former Super Eagles captain and defender, Joseph Yobo, has rated Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, as one of the best in the world, saying he deserved it because he started on the bench and fought his way to the very top.
The Lille of France goalkeeper is on the verge of becoming the second Nigerian player to reach 100 caps for the nation’s senior national team when the Eagles play the Cranes of Uganda on the 25th of March.
As it stands, the Super Eagles skipper has appeared for the national team 99 times and two games have been scheduled for the month of March which may take his tally to 101 games, if he played the two games against Uganda and South Africa.
“I am very happy for Enyeama, congratulations to him. He’s a great goalkeeper. He has his time. We took a different route. He had to start from the bench, coming off and fighting for his place before he became a super regular. I started and just continued.
