Those where that last words Vuyo Mvoko, a contributing editor at South Africa’s national broadcaster SABC, said on live TV after four armed men robbed a team of journalists while television cameras were rolling.
The SABC team was preparing to be interviewed live on TV from outside Milpark Hospital on Tuesday night when the mugger pounced on them, robbing them of money, cellphones and broadcasting equipment, the SABC said on its website.
At least two of the mugger were clearly visible on the screen during the robbery.
South Africa, the second largest economy on the continent, has one of the highest crime rates in the world.
Murder rate in the country increased for a second consecutive year in the 12 months through March 2014 to 32.2 per 100,000 people, while the number of robberies with aggravating circumstances climbed by 13 percent.
