The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy, recently won by Cote d’Ivoire, will tour the West African nation to boost reconciliation after a decade of political and armed crises.
The tour will kick off on March 16 and end on April 2, covering 15 cities, according to the Ivorian football federation (Fif).
“Winning the 2015 Afcon has united Ivorians more and we feel it would be a great opportunity to consolidate that joy and unity of February 8 by taking the trophy to even the farthest part of the country for locals to see,” Fif vice president Sory Diabate told Supersport.
