The COSAFA Cup draw for the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations took place on Thursday, with the teams involved in the competition finding out who they will be playing against during the tournament.
The COSAFA Cup sees the best teams in Southern Africa taking each other on in an effort to be named the best national team in the region.
The competition will be held in South Africa during June this year, with 14 teams vying for the 2015 title, including two teams from outside the region who are invited guests, as Ghana and Tanzania join the tournament list.
The draw involved two original groups of the eight lower ranked sides in the competition, who will face each other to determine a place in the quarter-finals, with only the winners of the two groups progressing past the group stage.
Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Tanzania have been drawn together in Group A, while Group B will be contested by the Seychelles, Mauritius, Swaziland and Madagascar.
The six best ranked sides will have an automatic pass to the quarter-finals, with Ghana set to face the winner of Group B, while the eventual top dog in Group A will come up against Zambia.
The draw revealed that South Africa will need to overcome Botswana in the quarter-final, and Mozambique’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals will depend on the strength of their opponents, Malawi.
