Ivory Coast manager Herve Renard spoke exclusively with Shorouk Sports, denying any reports linking him to the Egyptian national team.

Experienced French coach Hervé Renard confirmed that he won’t be leaving his position as Ivory Coast manager.

The two-time AFCON champion’s words came to reply to the Egyptian Football Association’s recent statement saying that they’re negotiation with the 46-year-old to succeed sacked coach Shawky Gharib.

“Officials of the Ivorian Football Association want me to continue with them, and I have the same desire to stay and complete my contract, especially since am leading the continent’s strongest team, having achieved their first African Cup of Nations title in 23 years, ” he said.

Renard also denied all rumours suggesting that his huge financial requests and his insistence on the presence of three assistant coaches are the obstacles preventing him from becoming Egyptian national team manager.
