IBM To Manage Bidco Infrastructure For Africa Expansion

IBM will provide IT infrastructure and managed services to consumer goods company Bidco Africa, according to deal signed at the IBM Headquarters in Nairobi.

Bidco claims to manufacture, market and distribute the largest range of product categories in the East and Central Africa.

The deal, worth 45 million Kenyan shillings (US $495,000), will also see IBM help Bidco in its expansion strategy across Africa. This is expected to improve Bidco’s productivity, lower capital expenditure and improve return on investment.

…IBM has announced more than 20 banking deals throughout Africa over the last five years. In the health sector, Metropolitan Health in South Africa and the Zambia Ministry of Health have tapped IBM to drive their business models.

In 2014 IBM partnered with Fidelity Bank Ghana, one of the largest banks in the country to manage its technology infrastructure and services.
