According to an announcement following a recent board meeting, the new season of the second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) will begin on April 18, 2015.

The Nigeria National League kick-off date will be preceded by the Super 4 tournament, to be played in Ilorin between February 23 – 25.

This mini competition will included Kwara United, Wikki Tourists, Shooting Stars and Gabros International, with the eventual champions being crowned kings of the Nigeria second division.

The Nigerian top flight league has experienced numerous stoppages and problems, and it will be a positive step forward for it to commence in April.
