The international Hilton hotel group has signed an agreement with a Namibian black economic empowerment company to run a second hotel for it in the capital Windhoek.

“Hilton Worldwide announces the signing of a management agreement with Out of Africa Hospitality to open a mid-market Hilton Garden Inn hotel,” the group said on Thursday.

The envisaged 180-room hotel would be constructed next to the existing Hilton Windhoek, which opened its doors in 2011, in the city centre.

The new hotel, to open in early 2017, will be the second Hilton in Namibia and is to form part of the current Freedom Plaza development.
