‘Shock and horror’ Perception Puts Investors Off Africa In 2014

The ‘Africa Rising’ narrative is replete with stories of conflict, disease and poverty all across western media, but these Ghanaian-born Tutu Agyare – managing director at Nubuke Investments –  told CNBC are the negative perceptions that overshadowed the good side of the fast growing continent.

“A lot of our work when we go out is to try and interest people to invest in Africa rather than saving Africa,” Agyare said.

“It’s just perception and perception will change over time. The more success stories we have the more Africans we have on the Forbe’s list to show people that there is actually wealth to be created, the perception will change but it will take time.”
