A $100,000 prize may not sound like much for a professional football player, but for Kenyan marathoners that amount could set them on life of wealth  and riches. These possibility has pushed some top Kenyan runners to be lured into doping syndicates that has seen over 30 Kenyan’s fail drug tests at major events in the just over two years.

Kenya’s Rift Valley is know a as the home of  world record beating marathoners, but with the increased doping cases from upcoming athlete this reputation has been tainted.

“Taking drugs is something like a short cut. So I think it’s not good,” Long distance runner, Boaz Kiplagat, told Aljazeera in an interview.
