15 Most Inappropriate Moments in “Kids” Entertainment

16 of 16

Movies and television shows geared towards kids are meant to be family-friendly, but the creators often slip in a bit of humor for parents and caretakers that may be dragged into watching them as well. While most of them will go over the heads of younger audiences with no problem, occasionally they are a bit dirtier than most parents would prefer. Here are fifteen of the most inappropriate moments in kids’ entertainment.

Jessica Rabbit

Jessica Rabbit is easily one of the sexiest cartoons in history, and “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” took every opportunity to play it up as much as possible. In one scene, she’s ejected from the car along with Bob Hoskins, and overenthusiastic viewers were quick to freeze frame the scene to determine whether of not she flashes a bit too much. While nobody has been able to come to a definitive answer as to whether or not she’s wearing panties, it’s definitely not the most kid-friendly scene out there.

The Rescuers’ topless woman

The 1977 Disney flick, “The Rescuers,” lost a bit of its family friendly credibility when viewers realized that an image of a topless woman is clearly seen about 38 minutes into the film. It comes at the time where Bianca and Bernard are flying in a sardine can on Orville, and the picture pops up in the window of a building they pass by. So many people began talking about this that Disney felt compelled to recall 3.4 million copies of the film in 1999 to fix the problem, though they offered no explanation as to how the picture got there in the first place.

Shrek’s Lord Farquaad

Ever notice what happens when you say “Farquaad” ten times fast? Sounds suspiciously like the less-than creative insult “f***wad,” doesn’t it? Well done, Dreamworks, you got away with it this time! Also, upon seeing Farquaad’s castle, Shrek says to Donkey, “Do you think maybe he’s compensating for something?” Then they both have a good chuckle. Cheeky…

Hawk Girl’s subtle ribbing of Flash

Superhero Flash is known for his incredible speed, and he loves to brag about being the fastest man alive. In one cartoon episode, however, Hawk Girl responds with, “Which might explain why you can’t get a date.” Ouch, Hawk Girl.

Space Jam’s performance issues

In the 1996 hit film in which the Looney Tunes team up with Michael Jordan, the whole plot starts when several big-time NBA players lose their talent to the aliens from Moron Mountain. As the film delves into a montage of the players seeking psychiatric and medical help, Patrick Ewing is asked by his shrink if there were any other areas in which he was “unable to perform.” Yikes.

Pinocchio – in more ways than one

While plenty of people have pointed out the resemblance Pinocchio’s nose to a certain male organ, that’s not the only way the film’s creators got a bit risqué. At one point, Pinocchio is chopping wood and says, “Bein’ bad is a lot of fun.” Isn’t he like 5-years-old or something?

Lumière gets frisky

In “Beauty and the Beast,” Lumière plays the role of the perfect host, inviting Belle to be their guest and laying out the red carpet. But he takes it a step further at one point, when he tries to mack it with an angel figurine, who replies with, “Lumière, please! You’ll tarnish the halo!”

Toy Story’s hooker

Ever notice the “toy” in the “Toy Story” movies made up of a pair of legs in heels attached to a hook? It’s a not-so-subtle hooker toy. Because what kid doesn’t like to play with a hooker?

Ariel’s priest gets excited at the prospect of matrimony

When Ursula assumes Ariel’s appearance in her attempt to trick Prince Eric into marriage in “The Little Mermaid,” many were quick to point out a bit of a surprising attribute of the priest. There is no doubt that the Bishop sports a clear bulge in his trousers – some claim that it was meant to be knobbly knees, but the implication was obvious enough that Disney digitally removed the bulge for the DVD release of the film.

Grandpa Lou’s affinity for porn

In the fun-for-the-whole-family “Rugrats” series, the majority of antics involved Tommy Pickles and co. having adventures, or thwarting the antagonism of frenemy Angelica. But in one episode, Grandpa Lou comes home with some Reptar movies for the babies to watch, along with “Lonely Space Vixens,” for after they go to bed.

Spider-Man vs. Black Cat

Spider-Man has already taken a fair amount of well-deserved flack for the innuendo of shooting webs everywhere as he hits puberty, but his scenes with the thief, Black Cat, take it to the next level. The already oversexed Black Cat teases at one point, “You better not get your goop in my hair,” to which Spider-Man replies, “Don’t worry, it comes off with ice or peanut butter.” At least now comic fans know how to get semen out of their hair at a young age!

Edd needs reminding not to wank

In the television series, “Ed, Edd, n Eddy,” Edd’s parents leave for the night and write him several post-it reminders of how to behave while their gone. Along with, “Walk, don’t run,” “Lock door,” and “Flush,” they also leave one that can clearly be seen in the bathroom that says, “Don’t touch yourself.” Ew.

Bugs tricks Yosemite Sam into a prison rape situation

In the 1995 Looney Tunes episode, “Carrotblanca,” the ongoing feud between Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam culminates when Bugs manages to trick Sam into a prison cell. Sam realizes he’s locked in, and turns to find a Marlon Brando lookalike leering at him. In case the implication wasn’t already clear, he goes on to say, “Yosemite? When we’re done, you’re going to be Grand Canyon.”

Genie references honeymoon sex

As the palace starts to shake in one scene of “Aladdin,” Genie exclaims, “I thought the Earth wasn’t supposed to shake until the honeymoon!” It’s no surprise that Genie makes some innuendos, given that he’s voiced by known ad-libber Robin Williams, but still. Show some restraint!

Simba and Nala’s incest

In “The Lion King,” Simba and Nala end up happily ever after, as Simba assumes his position as the king of Pride Rock. But given that they were both from the same pride initially, where there can only be one king, it has to be assumed that Mufasa was Nala’s father as well. Which means…ew.
