Paris Chamber Of Commerce Wants French To Invest More In Senegal

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris (CCIP) is urging French companies to increase their investments in Senegal.

“CCIP President Pierre Antoine Gailly told an investors’ forum organized on the occasion of Senegal Advisory Group session that several emerging fields of the Senegalese market match the offer and specificity of French companies,” reports Star Africa.

Gailly urged French investors to get consider Senegal’s mining, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, water and sanitation, tourism, and education sectors.

According to the CCIP president, there are currently more than 250 French companies operating in Senegal ranging from CAC 40 elites to SMEs. But, he says the French private sector has not reached its full potential in the country.

According to Gailly, France and Senegal enjoy privileged bilateral ties and reminded the forum that his country was Senegal’s first supplier, its second European partner and fourth at the international level in 2011.

Right now, France is also the biggest investor in Senegal with a foreign direct investment stock.
