The first industrial-scale wind power plant has been inaugurated on the Seychelles, a 6MW facility built on two small islands near the capital, Victoria.
South Korea’s Unison supplied the eight 750kW turbines and delivered the plant on a turnkey basis to Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s clean-tech investor, which developed the project. The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development provided a $28 million grant.
