International Association Business Is Growing In South Africa

South Africa saw an 18 percent increase in international association meetings last year, welcoming a total of 94,000 delegates to 118 events.

The figures come as Meetings Africa, an event dedicated to showcasing Africa’s diverse offering of services and products, approaches its tenth anniversary. The show, hosted by the South Africa National Convention Bureau (SANCB), is taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg from 23 – 25 February 2015.

“Meetings Africa is where global buyers and exhibitors from all over the African continent meet, organize business events and in doing so help drive Africa’s, knowledge economy forward,” said Thulani Nzima, CEO at South African Tourism.

“Our event pipeline going forward continues to look extremely positive. We already have 143 association conferences and events confirmed between now and 2017.”
