Congo Jumpstarts Public Sector Entrepreneurship Support Programs

For the first time ever, Brazzaville, Congo hosted a global entrepreneurship forum, CCTV Africa reported. The event provided a basic startup training and encouraged attendees to start businesses of their own as employment opportunities are described to be far and few in-between. Although many other non-oil sectors show financial promise, other Central Africa countries are outperforming Congo in the entrepreneurship arena.

“I believe that the Congolese people are starting to have the will and are realizing that there is development,” Bertille Mapouata, director of planning for the Ministry of France told CCTV Africa. “They have alongside them a public sector that wants to support them. We will not stop working and we will persevere until this is realized.”
