France to Aid Ghana’s Implementation of Democracy, Acceptance of Accountability

From Government of Ghana

Mr Frederick Clavier, French Ambassador to Ghana, has said that the French Government was initiating a project to support mechanisms aimed at ensuring accountability in the central and local administrative sectors of Ghana.

This, the Ambassador said would help to deepen democratic governance and transparency in Ghana.

Mr Clavier said France would also support efforts being made by the Government of Ghana to improve the public sector administration, as part of the ongoing public sector reforms.

He made the remarks at the inauguration of a computer laboratory and a refurbished girl’s dormitory for the Government Secretarial School in Tamale, yesterday.
Mr Clavier said the French Government was supporting public sector reforms, which spans 2007 to 2013, with 1.2 million Euros.

He said France shared some values with the people of Ghana, and mentioned democratic governance and political stability.
