Somalia Offer $2 Million Bounty For Information On Al Shabaab’s New Leader

Somali’s intelligence chief announced a two million dollars bounty on Sept. 27th for information leading to the capture of the new leader of the al-Shabaab terrorist group in the country.

Ahmed Umar also known as Abu Ubaidah recently became the leader of the new group replacing Abdi Godane who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Southern Somalia earlier this month.

Somali government has announced a bounty for the first time for any al Shabaab leader.

Abdiraham Mohamud Turyare, the country’s national security intelligence chief said that protection would be provided to anyone who provides information on the leader’s whereabouts.
