Ukufunda, a virtual school app will soon launch in South Africa. Created to benefit school-aged children, the app also boosts resourcefulness of educational tools for educators and parents, according to CCTV Africa. Feature phones and smartphones will be able to host the program which uses minimal data and provides homework help and text books.

“It’s not just about e-learning, it’s about taking an analytic view of education,” Andre Rudge, Mxit CEO said. “So, what we’re trying to do is take the characteristics of a good physical school and then replicate them in a virtual environment that is easily accessible by all.”
