Ebola Spreads DRC, WHO Reports 35 Deaths

There have been 31 more cases of Ebola virus disease (EVD) reported in Democratic Republic of Congo between 2 and 9 September, increasing the cumulative number of cases to 62, WHO says.

Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo have doubled in the last week bringing the cumulative number of cases to 62, the World Health Organization said on Thursday.

Between September 2 and 9, there have been 31 more cases of the Ebola virus disease reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the World Health Organization said in a statement on Thursday.

In the country, of those who have contracted the virus, 35 people have died so far, WHO noted. The organization also said nine health-care workers in the country have been diagnosed with the virus and seven of them have died.
