Google Street View Showcases Ancient Egyptian Sites

While Google Street View isn’t available for many cities in Africa, several wonders of ancient Egypt can now be viewed via the popular online service.

In total, six Egyptian sites, including the Great Pyramids of Giza, were documented in 2013 by Google’s Trekker technology (a backpack with a camera affixed to the top).

Some of the other sites include the Hanging Church, one of the oldest churches and Egypt, the Great Sphinx of Giza, the oldest monumental statue in the world, and the Pyramid of Khafre, the second-tallest and second-largest of the pyramids.
