Tourists Gain Access To ‘Cradle Of Humankind’ Excavation Site

Tourists in South Africa will soon be able to access the Cradle of Humankind excavation site in Malapa, where a new hominid species was discovered four years ago. Visitors will be able to view the site within the next 6-8 weeks from a viewing platform above the excavation. Malapa is situated within the Cradle of Humankind heritage site and located 45 kilometres (28 miles) northwest of Johannesburg.
