Africa’s Biggest Stars Expected In NYC At Nigeria Entertainment Awards

The Ninth annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards are being held Sunday, Aug. 31 in New York City to recognize the contributions of African entertainers to a thriving entertainment industry.

The awards raise awareness of African entertainment and promote the image and rich culture of Nigeria on the continent and around the globe, according to SocialAlerts.

Awards headliners include Ayo Jay, Ayoola, Harry Song, Kcee, MC Galaxy, Nikki Laoye, Niyola, Orezi, Oriste Femi, Patoranking, Reminisce, Runtown, Selebobo, Seyi Shay, Skales, Sna Z, Solid Star, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Wizzy Pro.

Producers of the program will be honoring Tuface Idibia with a Lifetime Achievement Award for work in the African music industry, according to NYAmsterdamNews,

Idibia’s career has spanned more than 20 years, first as member of the Plantashun Boyz and later as a solo artist. He’ll be recognized for 20-plus years of consistent contribution to the African music industry.
