Trashy Bags, a Ghana-based business which turns plastic and other recyclables into reusable and luxury bags has found an international appeal. According to CCTV Africa, all of the components of the company’s bags are from Ghana — and every item is handmade. However, the name and material which the bags are made from, doesn’t speak for it all.

“Brand is also about quality,” Elvis Aboluah, Trashy Bags project director told CCTV Africa.

“For six years now people who know us and have been part of us see that we are really particular about quality control — even though we’re making products out of recycled material.”
