Sierra Leone to Model Economics After Liberia’s Open Budget Initiative

A three man delegation from the Ministry of Finance Economic & Development Planning of Sierra Leone is in the country for a two- day study tour on Liberia’s Open Budget Initiative and E-billboard.

Speaking at the opening of the study tour section Tuesday, June 24, 2014, the head of the delegation Mr. Amadu Sidi Bah, said they are in Liberia to study, learn about the installation and functioning of the E-Billboard installed at the Ministry of Finance in Liberia and other processes involved in the successful implementation of open budget.

He said Liberia was chosen because of the tremendous and indisputable progress been made in the implementation of Open Budget initiative. The counterpart thanked Liberia for her commitment in taking vital information to its citizenry through technology. He also urged other neighboring countries in the region to emulate Liberia’s examples.

“The bill board is part of transparency measure implemented all over the world and we realize this is an innovation that needs to be applauded by the Ministry of Finance Economic & Development Planning in Sierra Leone as done here in Liberia”.
