Angolan Government Meets Infrastructural Investors Halfway

Real estate plots — which are heightening the attention of investors — are also what Angola is relying on to improve its infrastructural image, a CCTV Africa report said. While the country longs to become a “cosmopolitan” city, an overnight hotel stay will cost more than the average — and overall, investment in Luanda hasn’t reached a satisfactory high point.

“We are here in the middle of a public-private partnership, which is the Luanda bay project. It’s 100 percent private investment and the re-qualification of a public space,” Miguel Carneiro, Baia De Luanda executive director said.

“Additionally, one of the basics of the project was to clean the waters and the bay. In return for that investment, the Angolan government gave to us a set of concessions — notably commercial spaces.”
