As if to vindicate Chimamanda Adichie’s TED talk on “the danger of a single story“, Hollywood actor Terry Crews told Black Tree TV that there a different side to Africa other than the one portrayed by most international media of a continent filled with strife and suffering for its people.

“When you go to Africa it’s always about … who is not eating. But there is another side. There is some beautiful, wonderful, happy people there who want to laugh. Who really are not down,” Crews told Black Tree TV.

“Actually there are people in Africa who are making money and doing very very well. People need to laugh. You can’t cry all the time.”
