Ghana-Ivory Coast Oil & Border Dispute Still Unresolved

An ongoing dispute between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire involving maritime borders and barrels of oil, which are “within range” has yet to be resolved, according to a My Joy report. Although several meetings have been held, the two nations have yet to present final delimit proposals. Both ministries have said that talks and treatment during visits have been amicable.

“The boundaries between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire has never really been an issue. We just hope that we come up with a method to delimit and delineate the border,” Aduama Toungara, Ivory Coast minister of energy and petroleum said. “If we find that limit, there should not be a line of division between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. It should be a line which would reinforce the unity between our two countries.”
