Cape Verdean Filmmaler Daniel Sousa Nominated For Oscar

Animated movie “Feral,” by Cape Verdean-born filmmaker Daniel Sousa, has been nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the Oscar Award in the category of best short animated film.

Feral tells the story of a wild boy, a child attempting to adapt to civilization after being found in a forest, where he grew up.

This is the sixth film by Daniel Sousa, who was born in Cape Verde but has Portuguese nationality. Sousa has garnered more than ten awards for the film, including in Annecy, France, where it received three distinctions in 2013.
