Botswana E-Classified Website Bartrit Makes Micro business Advertising Easy

From The Voice

Bartit is an electronic classified website designed to enable small businesses, traders and individuals who do not have budgets to advertise and promote goods and services for free has entered the market.

Bartit as the website is called is owned by Parikshi Bohra a Botswana born student in Cape Town where the website has already started to gain popularity.

Bohra explained that the website was meant to be called ‘barter it’, however, the letter ‘e’ was forgotten when the domain name was registered hence Bartit.

He said: “Internet is a sector that is in its primitive stages in Botswana.

However, internet connectivity is expected to improve gradually in the near future, the reason being the country is being connected to sea-com cables and data prices are expected to decrease further and internet speeds to increase.

Therefore internet media will become as important as print media. Vendors and individuals will want online presence.”

The idea, Bohra said, was based on other online businesses that have bloomed in other parts of the world.
