Air Seychelles to Boost Business, Signs Vanilla Islands Marketing Agreement

“We are delighted to sign this deal with the Vanilla Islands Organisation, which is doing an impressive job creating interest in the Indian Ocean,” Cramer Ball, Air Seychelles CEO said in a company press release.

“Our partnership makes good business sense as there is a great natural synergy between our regional ambitions and the Vanilla Island’s aims to increase connectivity to and between the islands,” he said.

In efforts to lure tourists to The Seychelles and destinations the airline services, a strategic marketing partnership MOU has been signed at Air Seychelles’ Fixed Base Operation. Although servicing hasn’t reached the benchmark Air Seychelles looks to offer, routing through Mauritius and Johannesburg contribute to traffic increases of the Indian Ocean region, the press release said.

“We look forward to working with them and other regional tourism partners to drive new business to the region and Seychelles,” Ball added, mentioning that French airline Air Austral is also a partner.

Pascal Viroleau, CEO of the Vanilla Islands Organization said that upon travelling to Seychelles, Madagascar or Comoros, it’s clear to see that more routing and airline options need to be made available.

“We are delighted to work with Air Seychelles to develop new products that will attract travellers to and between the islands of the region,” Viroleau said. “With the addition of an A319 later this year and simultaneous launch of new regional services, Air Seychelles adds a powerful new dimension to the marketing of the Indian Ocean.”

According to the release — through the Vanilla Islands Organization — the islands of Madagascar, Seychelles, Comoros, Mauritius, La Reunion, Seychelles, Mayotte and Maldives are marketing as a joint brand.
