Five alleged members of Chicago’s notorious O-Block gang have been charged in the August 2020 murder of popular local hip-hop artist FBG Duck.
Charges were filed against the members of the South Side street gang: Charles “C-Murda” Liggins, Kenneth “Kenny” Roberson, Tacarlos “Los” Offerd, Christopher “C Thang” Thomas, and Marcus “Muwop” Smart, according to a federal racketeering indictment unsealed yesterday.
Duck’s mother, Sheena Weekly, went on Instagram Live to say her son’s killers had been taken into custody.
“They arrested the four motherfuckers who killed my son,” she wrote.
The O-Block gang is a violent faction of the Black Disciples, one of Chicago’s largest street gangs.
FBG Duck, born Carlton Weekly, was fatally shot and two other people were wounded on Aug. 4, 2020, near Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile when four people got out of cars and opened fire on pedestrians on the sidewalk. Duck was taken to a hospital nearby, where he was later pronounced dead. He was 26 years old.
A 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman who were sitting in a parked vehicle nearby were also wounded in the shooting, Fox News reported.
In addition to charges of committing murder in aid of racketeering, the alleged gang members are charged with federal firearm violations and assaults in aid of racketeering.
FBG Duck was a member of the Gangster Disciples, which had a longstanding feud with the Black Disciples, according to the police, Complex reported.
Police believe the murder of FBG Duck was in retaliation for a threat video called “Dead Bitches” in which Duck dissed dead members of the rival Black Disciples gang. “Dead Bitches” got more than 21.1 million views on YouTube. Police believe the video might have made him a target.

On the day he was killed, FBG Duck traveled through the city live-streaming his whereabouts on social media. Around 4:30 p.m., as he stood near the entrance of a high-end clothing store, two cars pulled up, two men got out of each vehicle and started firing. A woman waiting for FBG Duck in a parked black Mercedes-Benz was injured along with a male who was with them, the BBC reported
