The walls seem to be closing in on MAGA politician and Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz. A close confidant has decided to make a deal with federal prosecutors.
Joel Greenberg, a former Seminole County, Florida, tax commissioner, was facing major prison time after being convicted on 33 federal charges that ranged from identity theft to sex trafficking of a minor, as well as fraud and bribery allegations. Now, under the deal with the feds, he could greatly reduce his criminal case by helping authorities in their investigation of Gaetz that includes a sex trafficking probe.
Greenberg plans to plead guilty to six federal charges, according to a new court filing, which does not mention Gaetz.
Federal investigators are looking at whether Gaetz, who has not been charged, broke federal sex trafficking, prostitution, and public corruption laws and whether he had sex with a minor, CNN reported.
As part of his plea deal, Greenberg plans to admit in court that he introduced a child “to other adult men, who engaged in commercial sex acts with the minor in the Middle District of Florida,” according to the document filed.
Gaetz spokesman Harlan Hill denied the allegations against his boss. “Congressman Gaetz doesn’t seem to be named nor referenced in Mr. Greenberg’s plea … Congressman Gaetz has never had sex with a minor and has never paid for sex.”

The congressman has denied any wrongdoing.
“I’m being falsely accused of exchanging money for naughty favors,” Gaetz said and tried to distract attention from his actions, according to NBC News. “Yet Congress has reinstituted a process that legalizes the corrupt act of exchanging money for favors, through earmarks, and everybody knows that that’s the corruption.”
