In light of the ‘new normal’ brought on by covid-19, Ticketmaster is in the process of updating their requirements for attending concerts and other live events in to include a coronavirus vaccination or test result check, Billboard reported.

The news came after pharmaceutical company Pfizer announced it had promising preliminary results on a covid-19 vaccine, Monday, Nov. 9. It increased hopes that the entertainment industry and others that heavily depend on human attendance can get back to in-person events in 2021 – as the industry took a major hit during the pandemic.

In an effort to promote post-pandemic safety, the ticketing giant has been working on a system that will use smartphones to verify if a customer has either been vaccinated or received a negative test result for coronavirus.

If not vaccinated, event attendees and concertgoers would have to show negative test results within a 24 to 72-hour span. The plan has yet to be finalized, but Ticketmaster will utilize three components, according to Billboard.

They include the Ticketmaster digital ticket app, third party companies that provide health information and testing and vaccine providers.

Jamarlin makes the case for why this is a multi-factor rebellion vs. just protests about George Floyd. He discusses the Democratic Party’s sneaky relationship with the police in cities and states under Dem control, and why Joe Biden is a cop and the Steve Jobs of mass incarceration.

“Ticketmaster would not store or have access to fans’ medical records and would only receive verification of whether a fan is cleared to attend an event on a given date,” Billboard states.

Ticketmaster president Mark Yovich believes the growing need for digital screening services will fuel growth in the tech sector for covid-19 specific products.

“We’re already seeing many third-party health care providers prepare to handle the vetting — whether that is getting a vaccine, taking a test, or other methods of review and approval – which could then be linked via a digital ticket so everyone entering the event is verified,” Yovich told Billboard.

He said they are doing their part to create pathways for fans to return to enjoying events in person.

“Ticketmaster’s goal is to provide enough flexibility and options that venues and fans have multiple paths to return to events, and is working to create integrations to our API and leading digital ticketing technology as we will look to tap into the top solutions based on what’s green-lit by officials and desired by client,” Yovich said.
