Many African-American voters are lukewarm about the prospect of voting for Joe Biden in the presidential election. Add Nina Turner, the co-chairwoman of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, to that list. She’s outspoken about the prospect.

“It’s like saying to somebody, ‘You have a bowl of shit in front of you, and all you’ve got to do is eat half of it instead of the whole thing,” Turner said of the choice between voting for Biden and Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election. “It’s still sh*t.”

Turner made the comment during an interview with The Atlantic.

She made these remarks even as a group of Sanders delegates to the Democratic National Convention sent Biden a letter this month asking him to consider Turner, a former Ohio state senator, as his presidential running mate, Mediate reported.

This isn’t the first time Sanders has spoken out against Biden. In a January opinion piece, she said Sanders had “always stood up for African Americans,” while Biden “has repeatedly let us down.”

Harvard University Prof. Cornel West, who also supported Sanders, had a similar view as Turner in the same The Atlantic article, Fox 40 reported.

“We have to be true to ourselves and acknowledge that Biden is a mediocre, milquetoast, neoliberal centrist that we’ve been fighting against in the Democratic establishment,” West said.

Listen to GHOGH with Jamarlin Martin | Episode 73: Jamarlin Martin Jamarlin makes the case for why this is a multi-factor rebellion vs. just protests about George Floyd. He discusses the Democratic Party’s sneaky relationship with the police in cities and states under Dem control, and why Joe Biden is a cop and the Steve Jobs of mass incarceration.

Trump and Turner might actually agree on something. Trump has alleged that the Democratic Party cheated Sanders out of the nomination. MAGA is looking to lure Sanders backers by pointing out that Biden supported the Iraq War, voted for the North American Free Trade Agreement and authored a 1994 crime law credited with contributing to the “mass-incarceration” of Black people, The New York Post reported.

“Last time I got a lot of Bernie Sanders voters, as you know, a very good percentage. People were shocked, mostly because of trade,” Trump said in June.
